Who we are...
• A Community radio station in Pangani District broadcasting through 107.7 Mhz since May 2011. We cover Pangani District, parts of
Zanzibar, Muheza, Handeni, Korogwe and Bagamoyo Districts and
some parts of Tanga city.
Pangani
• Part and parcel of UZIKWASA (www.uzikwasa.or.tz) a local NGO that empowers communities towards taking ownership of their development and raising voices through creative and interactive multimedia communication including Film (link to Aisha face book) and Theatre for Development, Comic books and interactive radio programs
• A Monitoring and Evaluation instrument that systematically
collects and analyzes community feedback for designing dynamic
programs that are responsive to changing community needs.
Our Mission
To be committed to a development process that facilitates
communities towards promotion and ownership of their development
agenda through participatory program approaches and collaboration
with partners.
Objectives
• To broadcast locally and culturally appropriate participatory
programmes for creating awareness on critical development issues
including local behaviours and practices related to HIV/AIDS,
Gender and Human rights, transformative Leadership, Heritage and
progressive Culture.
• To enable Pangani communities to participate in the design
and implementation of effective communication strategies
for enhanced debates, partnership and networking for their
improved wellbeing.
Our strength based on

multiple forces in program design to effectively address diverse
needs.
• Belief in the effectiveness of participation and self-reliance for
ownership and sustainability
• Our strong and committed program team, talented radio
presenters/producers and hard working radio volunteers and
village correspondents.
We do…
• Produce interactive radio programs that complement and re-enforce
other community communication media such as Theatre
for development, Village cinema, public debates and Printed IEC
materials.
• Produce programs that assist communities to speak up about
their development challenges and foster mutual accountability
and leadership commitment. This includes inviting women to
voice their concerns, build their confidence and encourage men
to be supportive to women’s efforts.
• Produce programs that are reflective of local realities and based
on research findings.
