Msimamizi na muandaaji wa vipindi vya radio Pambazuko Henry mwakifuna aelezea changamoto za kimtandao hasa kwa wakazi wa vijijini mkoani Mbeya alipo hojiwa wakati wa mafunzo ya matumizi ya mtandao kwa vituo vya radio za jamii. Mwakifuna asisitiza kuwa kwa wakazi wa mijini imekua rahisi kuchangia wakiwa wanasikiliza radio kwa njia ya mtandao hasa kwa kupitia mitandao ya kijamii, lakini hali ni tofauti kwa wakazi wa vijijini ambao wengi wao hawamiliki simu za mtandao na hivyo kuwawia vigumu kuchangia kwa kupitia mitandao ya kijamii…

The Iringa-based 98.0 HOPE FM is owned by the University of Iringa (UoI), formerly Tumaini University, Iringa University College. The radio station is an officially registered institution with certificate of registration No. 186128 of the year 2008. Over the years it has built credible broadcasting record more as a teaching studio covering academic and community development issues mainly for in-campus students. Two of its objectives are: (1) to involve itself in research and consultancy in the areas of community participation in the conservation of natural resources and environment as well as to preserve Tanzania culture. (2) To network with other organizations with similar objectives within and beyond national borders. The radio station has covered thousands of issues concerning promotion of local livelihoods in rural areas and urban poor with focus to influencing policy reforms that advance such livelihoods.
